17.3: Haris Rauf to Haider Ali, OUT! CAUGHT! Another one in the over for Pakistan and Haris Rauf too gets his second of the game. Good length, cramping the batter for any sort of room to play with. Haider Ali swings for all money, but only gets it ballooned towards the fielder at mid-wicket. Sahibzada Farhan settles well underneath it and holds onto it. United Arab Emirates have been brought down to 103 for 9.
17.2: Haris Rauf to Haider Ali, Hurls it full and outside off, Haider Ali drives it straight to the right of mid off.
17.1: Haris Rauf to Simranjeet Singh, OUT! SIMRANJEET SINGH IS RUN OUT! Just a stump to aim and Sahibzada Farhan hits the bullseye with the batter way short of his ground. The scolding he got from his skipper a few overs back seems to have got the best out of Farhan in the field. A length delivery from Rauf around middle and leg, Simranjeet Singh looks to slog but hits this off the bottom of his bat towards the fielder at mid-wicket and runs for it. Sahibzada Farhan gathers this and hits the stumps at the non-striker's end with the batter much short of his crease. The umpire, just to be doubly sure, sends this upstairs and the result was never in doubt.
16.6: Shaheen Afridi to Haider Ali, FOUR! Finds the fence! The 100 comes up for the UAE! Shaheen hits the shorter length, on top of off. Haider Ali backs away and smashes it over the point fielder for a boundary.
16.5: Shaheen Afridi to Simranjeet Singh, Slower delivery, at 119.5 kph, full and on middle. Simranjeet Singh drills it down to long on for a single.
16.4: Shaheen Afridi to Simranjeet Singh, Bangs it short and just outside off. Simranjeet Singh arches a bit and sways away from the line to leave.
16.3: Shaheen Afridi to Simranjeet Singh, Spears in a low full toss, tailing in a touch from middle, at 141.2 kph. Simranjeet Singh forces it away to the cover fielder.
16.2: Shaheen Afridi to Harshit Kaushik, OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Shaheen comes over the wicket and bowls a back-of-a-length delivery going down the leg. Harshit Kaushik looks to get this away towards the fine leg region but fails to get a good connection on it. Ends up gloving this towards the right of the keeper. Mohammad Haris dives to his right and holds onto it inches above the ground. Shaheen Afridi jogs in a celebratory manner towards the keeper but is left stunned as the umpire turns down this. Salman Agha sends this upstairs and there is a spike on the UltraEdge as the ball is next to the gloves of Harshit Kaushik, forcing the on-field umpire to change his decision of not out to out. Simranjeet Singh walks in next.
16.1: Shaheen Afridi to Haider Ali, On a good length, around off, Haider Ali hops in the crease and runs this wide of deep backward point for as single.
15.6: Salman Agha to Haider Ali, Slider, going down the leg, onto the pads of Ali. The batter edges this onto the pads and deflects it to square leg for one.
15.5: Salman Agha to Haider Ali, Flighted around the block hole on off, Haider Ali blocks this out towards mid off.
15.4: Salman Agha to Rahul Chopra, OUT! CAUGHT! That could be the final nail in the coffin. Full, on middle and off, Chopra goes for the big slog sweep but gets it only as far as deep mid-wicket. Simple catch for Hasan Nawaz. End of a struggling run-a-ball 35 for Chopra and from 85/3, United Arab Emirates are now 96/6! Equation - 51 runs, 26 balls.
15.3: Salman Agha to Rahul Chopra, Tossed up, around middle and leg, Rahul Chopra puts on the dancing shoes, jumps down the track and flicks this towards Hasan Nawaz at deep mid-wicket towards his left for two. Nawaz did well to run a few yards to his left and put in a slide to field this, keeping it down to two.
15.2: Salman Agha to Rahul Chopra, SIX! How has he managed to hit that? Tossed up, a bit wider outside off, Rahul Chopra came down the track but was far from the pitch of the ball. However, he went through with his reach and somehow swiped it over wide long off for half a dozen!
15.1: Salman Agha to Rahul Chopra, Comes round the wicket, does the skipper of Pakistan, bowls a fuller one, wide outside off. Rahul Chopra looks to drag this with a sweep towards the leg side but misses out.
19.6: Muhammad Rohid to Shaheen Afridi, OUT! HARIS RAUF IS RUN OUT. Great comeback by Rohid after going for 14 runs in his first 3 balls. Slower ball, on a length, outside off, Afridi backs away and looks to go inside out but ends up carving it over the field. The ball lands safely and the batters just keep on running. There is just the couple of runs available but Rauf is ready to sacrifice his wicket for the team's cause and challenges the throw, as he scampers back for the third. Simranjeet Singh returns a decent throw to the keeper, Rahul Chopra, who collects and hits the ball at the stumps, with Rauf not even in the frame. PAKISTAN FINISH ON 146/9!
19.5: Muhammad Rohid to Shaheen Afridi, Very full, on middle, Shaheen Afridi beings out the helicopter again, this time, along the ground, towards long on. Rauf starts to run but then Afridi sends him back. So two consecutive dots.
19.4: Muhammad Rohid to Shaheen Afridi, Finally, a dot ball. Wide yorker, outside off, SA reaches out, after backing away way too early and misses to connect.
19.3: Muhammad Rohid to Shaheen Afridi, FOUR! 6, 4, 4! This is a dream start to the final over for Pakistan. A slower ball, but short in length, Shaheen pulls it over short fine leg and finds the boundary again!
19.2: Muhammad Rohid to Shaheen Afridi, SIX MORE! Jeez - 23 from 10, with 2 fours and 2 sixes! He is really reminding everyone of the way his father-in-law used to play! A full ball again, down the leg side, Afridi brings out the helicopter and this time, it has wings deployed on it. The ball sails over the square leg fence!
19.1: Muhammad Rohid to Shaheen Afridi, SIX! CLUBBED! Full, outside off, Shaheen Afridi stays leg side of the ball and swings it cleanly through the line to clear long off!
18.6: Junaid Siddique to Haris Rauf, Another slower ball, outside off, dabbed towards backward point. So Siddique has to adjust with another 4-wicket haul, his 5th in T20Is. 4-0-18-4 for him tonight.
18.5: Junaid Siddique to Mohammad Haris, OUT! BOWLED! The slow death! The off cutter, from the back of the hand but Mohammad Haris does not read it at all. He has to wait and wait and wait, but the ball simply does not arrive. Losing his patience, he gets across and attempts a mighty mow via a paddle but is never in sync with the ball. He misses and the ball comes in late and knocks the leg stump out of the ground. 4th wicket for Siddique. Can he get his maiden T20I 5-fer? Haris departs for 18 (14) and from 70/2, Pakistan are now 128/8!
18.4: Junaid Siddique to Shaheen Afridi, Change of angle, from over the wicket. The off cutter, on a length, around off, angling away, SA goes for the big hoick but only manages a thick inside edge onto his pads. Takes the single off the deflection. 10 from the over with 2 balls left.
18.3: Junaid Siddique to Shaheen Afridi, FOUR! What a shot from a number 9! A grounded helicopter, shall we say? Full, outside off, Shaheen Afridi walks across and whips it through mid-wicket. There are two fielders in the deep, not too far apart at deep mid-wicket and wide long on, but they get bisected perfectly!
18.2: Junaid Siddique to Shaheen Afridi, On a length, outside off, coming back in, Shaheen swings hard but misses and is hit on the pads. The skipper and bowler have a chat as the LBW appeal is struck down, but no review is taken. Seemed like an inside edge.
18.2: Junaid Siddique to Shaheen Afridi, WIDE. Goes full again, but this is wide outside off, making Afridi reach out for it. But it is well past the tramline and is wided.
18.1: Junaid Siddique to Shaheen Afridi, FOUR! That is a good start to the over for Pakistan. Full, outside off, Shaheen Afridi thumps it through mid off. The fielder dives to his left but misses. The ball races away to the fence. That has to be an error in length. Cannot bowl full with mid off up.
17.6: Haider Ali to Mohammad Haris, FOUR! Landed outside off, pretty wide, Mohammad Haris backs away to the leg side and throws his bat at it. Just about manages to make contact with the ball and it flies off the outside edge, just about over backward point and skims through to the fence. 8 from the over, Haider Ali finishes with bowling figures of 4-0-28-0.
17.5: Haider Ali to Shaheen Afridi, Another swing attempted, missed again. The ball hits his pads and deflects towards the off side. Single taken.
17.4: Haider Ali to Shaheen Afridi, Wow. That is a fantastic shot for a six. Only, not in reality. A slower ball, from over the wicket, pretty straight, around middle and leg, Afridi gives the kitchen sink, but water does not flow from the tap at all. He swings hard towards the leg side but meets thin air. Luckily for him, the straight ball somehow misses the leg stump!
17.3: Haider Ali to Shaheen Afridi, Slower through the air, around leg stump, full in length, Shaheen Afridi works it through mid-wicket and runs hard to come back for the second.
17.2: Haider Ali to Mohammad Haris, Full, around off, driven towards long off for a single.
17.1: Haider Ali to Mohammad Haris, around off, a touch short, pushed towards cover.
17.4: Haris Rauf to Muhammad Rohid, RUN OUT! GAME, SET AND MATCH! Pakistan have got the victory they needed to advance to the next round of games as they defeat the United Arab Emirates by 41 runs. On a length around middle and off, Muhammad Rohid slices this to deep point and takes two without any difficulty. The throw from the deep was towards the striker's end and Mohammad Haris just tried a cheeky behind-the-back run-out at his end but the batter was well in and the keeper missed the stumps as well. The ball rolled towards the non-striker's end with Rohid keen on the third but at the other end, his partner, Junaid Siddique, had his back against him and wasn't that keen on the run. Haris Rauf picked the ball and threw it on the bounce towards Haris at the striker's end and he did the rest by breaking the stumps.
